THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
The Process
In April 2008 the church purchased a 28,000 sq. ft. fitness center which had gone out of business. We have been meeting in the facility since that time in a temporary sanctuary in the marked “social” on layout below. We are seeking to raise $75,000 to be able to start the project the summer of 2010 with the goal of being ready to open by Easter 2011.
Building a Permanent Sanctuary
For the past 3 years God has grown our body by about 100% a year. It has been exciting as God filled one service, then a second, and we are now on our way to filling our 3rd Sunday service. As we humbly see what God is doing we also recognize the reality that our facilities are inadequate for future growth.
So even though the process is scary and the resources scarce we believe that God is bigger than our need and is our provider. So we are now asking each person to do their part to help construct a new 430 seat sanctuary to give us a better tool to reach our city. This new sanctuary will replace 6 existing racquetball courts that occupy the 5,300 sq. ft. space. The layout below allows for:
• 400+ seats at our highest traffic services.
• More meeting rooms for life groups and discipleship.
• Access to the gym during the construction for Kamp Kidz or the
Overflow Video Cafe on Sundays
• Future areas to grow into inexpensively for additional space.
The Financial Picture
The project total expenditure required for this phase (highlighted in orange below) is $300,000, which can be broken down in the following.
• The first $75,000 will go toward replacing the roof structure for the
sanctuary to create a 5,300 sq. ft. open space.
• We will seek to raise an additional $50,000 in Jan. 2011 to finish
the project by getting the fire suppression system installed.
We Are Asking For Your Help
We believe God is up to big things. I know that many of you believe
God has brought us together to make a difference in this city and to see Christ glorified as we lay down our lives and follow Him in His passionate pursuit to seek and save the lost.
